Introduction to sheet metal blanking

Blanking is a stamping process that uses a die to separate some materials or process parts from other materials, work (process) parts or wastes. Blanking is the general name of separation processes such as shearing, blanking, punching, punching, grooving, sectioning, chiseling, trimming, tongue cutting, cutting and renovation.

Stamping method for separating parts or blanks of required shape and size from sheet metal. Blanking is to use the edge of the die to make the sheet metal shear, deform and separate along a certain contour line. Blanking accounts for the largest proportion in stamping production. In the blanking process, except for the metal near the shear contour line, the sheet itself does not produce plastic deformation, so the parts processed by flat blanking are still in a plane shape.
